Kreutzgate kommunalbolig

Fredrikstad

Kreutzgate kommunalbolig

East of Fredrikstad, the municipality has taken the initiative for a new housing project that includes a two-person home and a four-person home, designed for rental purposes. The project qualifies for support from the Housing Bank, and the location is in a well-established area with single-family housing.

The development of the homes is carefully adapted to the style of the surrounding houses, and takes into account the historically valuable older school building that is to be preserved on the site. The careful utilization of the plot follows the zoning plan. The project also includes parking facilities and common outdoor areas, which are oriented to the south and west to ensure the best possible solar conditions.

A sustainable approach was taken with the use of solid wood elements for walls and floors between the first and second floors. This use of material not only ensures strength and durability, but also places all load-bearing elements on the warm side of the insulation, which helps keep the structure dry and warm. This gives the buildings a possible lifespan of many hundreds of years, and underlines our sustainable attitude with the desire to build for long-term quality and environmental awareness in housing projects.
